It's still the "holidays" right?

So, as I sit here with a glass of wine and watching a movie, I sit & ask myself... Exactly how long can I keep up our Christmas decorations? I feel as if it wasn't long enough... All the hard work & weekend spent putting everything up.

What is TOO late to keep it up??:)

My adorable friend Mckeever has started a embroidery & screen printing business Nattie MACK. Christmas may be over but you are always needing gifts and what better gifts then monogrammed to make something special and personalized. Here are some of their recent items:

Do you have any items you have at home you want to be monogrammed? Bring them over to Nattie MACK & they will be happy to assist you with that.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is rapidly approaching & I am in full swing of things! Today is Friday, so that being said.. I have the weekend to get things wrapped up (literally). I am SO excited for the festivities to begin. From the Christmas parties, church services, present opening & spending time with families that is why I love Christmas.

I have finished up all of my shopping & wrapped most of my gifts but there is always some last minute things to do. I cant wait to spend Christmas with my family up in greenville & Edwin's family also. We are so excited to be spending our first Christmas together. I have so many things to be thankful for.

I doubt I will be blogging before Christmas, I hope you and your families have the happiest holidays! Keep your families close & remember those things that are most important.

xo,

the week from..

this is the week-

to most.. this is the most joyful time of year- Christmas approaching, Shopping and of course vacation starting. well for everyone but students.

it is crunch time. As you may all know, I am anxiously anticipating my acceptance in my clinical area of the Surgical Technology Program. These exams are not only crucial to my GPA but to my acceptance and start time into the program. So much stress and so much work (so little time). I have to keep thinking to myself, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The medical fields is such high competition now and will be forever into the future. It is a ticket for a steady job which I can honestly say I cant wait to start. I love the medical field and could not see myself working anywhere else. I am extremely excited to start my clinicals and begin making a difference in peoples lives.

So- to my faithful followers Say a Prayer as i begin my week of hell.

& to my fellow classmates - good luck & remember there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

a lil' christmas

So- This past weekend we started our plot for christmas decorating and tree gathering. We decided we want to actually cut down a frazier fur. Which as you may or may not know you can only get (closest by) in North Carolina. We left Saturday on our adventure. Edwins brother & sister in-law came with us to enjoy the laughs and fun.

We went to Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm, in Waynesville North Carolina. It was absolutley beautiful and such a family spot. We searched for our tree from the billions of them and found our perfect one!

We got our tree and went shopping in downtown Waynesville. Super cute shops and christmas stores all around.

We got home and started decorating the house. I had this vision/idea that i wanted a peacock inspired christmas tree. I love the look and colors of the feathers and wanted that. Welp, it turned out SO cute. I love having a fully decorated house to wake up to! Major props to edwins sister-in -law who helped until 2 AM. (oops.) We had a great time! Such a fun memmory.
Here is our final product! : )

(these stockings are from Kathy's Kreations in Irmo)

Sorry- these pictures are blury & not the best quailty most of them are from my phone. (havent uploaded from my camera)

"Fashion Friday"

Transitioning from fall to winter can throw a big damper on your wardrobe. There are so many fun ways to become playful with your clothes, not only with *layering but also with *accesories. Here are some of my favorites right now ( and i must say i love using them to spice up my closet)
im obssesed with my new wedged oxfords- they are perfect with tights & skirts.
im always a sucker for chunky necklaces/bibs, adds so much to a simple outfit.

The layerd look gives you that apperance of "throwing" something on, but still look very well put together.

i pair my new mustard clutch with another drastic of a color for a great eye popping look.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our family has a new tradition that we started (thanks to Candace) - Each person writes down one thing they are thankful for, we wrap them in the crescent rolls before baked. After they are done each person grabs one and opens it up and reads aloud. This way everyones gifts that they are thankful for are said out loud.

This Thanksgiving we will traveling alot, eating alot and most importantly spending important and precious time with our loving families. We will be headed to St. Matthews to Edwin's family to eat lunch with them. Back to Columbia to have dinner with my family.

Thanksgiving is much more than a big meal with family and friends. Its a time to reflect for myself how grateful I am for the all the great God has placed in my life. Even with all the hate and turmoil in the world, I am so extremely blessed to have all that I do. I have a precious family, great friends a great school and career ahead of me, a wonderful house, a loving boyfriend, a way to get around and most importantly people that care about me.

Dreams of the future shouldn’t diminish appreciation for the present. If all you do is concentrate on what you want, you won’t enjoy today. Don’t be jealous of others; what they do or have has no bearing on you. That being said: I am so very thankful for my loyal followers-

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM MY FAMILY TO YOURS!

Why should you vote??

If you are not registered to vote, you are missing out on a great national privilege and even more a significant personal freedom. Taking time to vote shows pride in your nation and its government. Let everyone know that you have a say in 2012's elections outcome.

I'M registered, are you??

Never surrender your right to speak your mind via the vote on election day.

one for one movement-

For years now i have been a proud owner of a few pairs of "Toms". It has now not just become a fashion trend but a thirsty need to help out those who are less fortunate then us.

In 2006 Blake Mycoskie traveled across the world and fell in love with the Argentina Children. Blake finding they have no shoes to protect their feet he wanted to take a step in finding help. So with that being said, he created TOMS Shoes a company that would match every pair of shoe that was being purchased with a shoe for a child in Argentina.
"The one for one movement is about people making everyday choices that improve the lives of children"

I never thought wearing a pair of shoes could be so rewarding-

'fashion friday'

Color blocking is not only for the summer & spring. Use those awesome rustic color palates to color block.
Transitioning into fall and winter sometimes can be blah when it comes to fun patterns/colors & cuts in the apparel that our stores are providing us. It is up to you and your creative side to mix and match to come up with the best wardrobe for you and spice up those dreary days with fun fashion.

Here are some of my favorite finds and tips to bring life to your wardrobe.

Throw a flannel on with jeans and a pair of boots and a scarf- you have a cute little outfit to run to the store or mall

Use a POP of color with a "tone" down shirt for a semi fall feel with fun skinys or leggings.

Fall Break/ Long Weekend

Last Thursday me and E set off to Charleston for a long weekend-

Needless to say, I was ready to get out of Columbia for a while and enjoy my weekend and start to my fall break. Thursday Morning i woke up with THE worst cold. Sore throat to the max & congestion. Edwin was just getting over his strain so lovely, passed it along to me. [thanks e]. We left right after work and planned on getting dinner downtown charleston once we got there. The car ride made me miserable and I thought it was best for me to just head to sleep ( 830) boo. I popped the best med's there is- without a script and died until the next morning.

The next day I was feeling MUCH better (friday) was his cousin Mandi's wedding at Wild Dunes- It was beautiful venue and fun night. The sunset was absoutley gorgeous- the pictures dont do much justice.  Such a close family is always a pleasure to hang out with. Here are some picutres from their night. Congrats Mandi and Chuck! Best Wishes to you both!

Dropped E off at the airport sunday to fly to Kansas City for a business trip- I hate airports & I hate when people are flying. Prayers flights go well & comes safely back home to me

Monday I got to spend some QT time with my mama. We decided to go to the fair and have lunch. Skipped breakfast so we could have extra room to grub on all the fair food. Had a fun time and ate lots.
