the BIG 3-0!

I am going to hop back on my posting train with a bang!

Last week was Edwin's BIG birthday. Most of you know, he turned the 3-0!

omg- this cant be real? we started dating when he was 27... I felt like it was so far from thirty.

I had this "surprise" party planned for months. not even kidding.

One of our favorite places to eat and especially DRINK is Schooners Bar & Grill. I knew he wouldn't have a clue if we planned on stopping by for a drink or two before dinner one night. So a week before his birthday (to throw him off a bit) I had about 55 of our closest family and friends there to see his precious face when we surprised him!

funny side note: on the way to "dinner" he was asking me what we should do for his birthday.. most of my response was what ever you wanna do... its YOUR birthday! I could tell he was a little disappointed that I wasn't as excited as he was for his birthday the following week. LITTLE DID HE KNOW!

When he opened the door, he was shocked, scared, and most of all SURPRISED!

I am so glad all of his family and friends kept it hush.

please note how red his face is! #blushing

Babe- Hope your birthday was a blast. Well I know you did considering how well you were feeling the next morning ;) But really, you have so many people who love and care about you and have the best wishes for you! Like mama said, I have a feeling your thirtys are gonna be your BEST yet! Heres to the next 30! I LOVE YOU!

slacker.

Yall. I have been so horrible on blogging this month. We will just scratch this month for the time being.

We have been so so busy.. weddings, baby showers, lake days (a lot of lake days. woo!) and spending time with our precious families.

This past weekend was memorial day weekend and so we were thankful for four days of a weekend! Friday, we did dinner with some awesome friends and went out for a little bit. Saturday we had a wedding and it was great to see some faces we haven't seen in a while: )

Sunday, we went to visit baby Eli. ITS BEEN like 2 months since we have seen him. makes me sad!

On our way home Edwin was talking about how much he has changed and his little personality was just precious. we love to watch him grow.

This weekend fingers crossed we wont have a lot to do. I really need to get things ready for our CRUISE! woo! cant wait!:) t-minus one month!

persistence & patient.

I am SO excited after my last two exams are finally over with I can say I am done.

who am I kidding?? IM ONLY GETTING STARTED!

well- not really. A few weeks back I had my dreadful interview to finally be accepted in my clinical program in surgical technology. everything went great and my 'acceptance' letter came in a few days later. I am ecstatic. my heart is so full that all of my hard work is finally paid off.

[those of you who aren't in the health care in Columbia may not know.. but at midlands there is a 3 year waiting list to get into this program. its highly competitive and once you get in, you can finally breathe]

Thankfully, the program is only one year. They cram all of the clinical sites into two semesters. Next August- I will graduate and be nationally certified. As one door opens another one closes. During this year, it is so highly demand and intense we are 'suggested' not to work while in the program. This being said, I am having to say goodbye to my 3 attorneys I work for. (which is just a whole different topic). sad.

back to happy- along with this beautiful news, one of my FAVORITE people and very best friends is also accepted and starting the program with me. we had dinner the other night to celebrate. she is such a sweet person and I cant wait to enjoy this crazy hell of a year with her by my side.

I am so proud to say I have come this far and only ONE more year, I can do it.

I have always wanted to work in the health care field. I have always had that "motherly" instinct and always taking care of people whether I know them or not.

[sidenote] one day someone asked Edwin what is one of his favorite things about me- and he said 'I know she will always take care of me'

so sweet. but so true. I love to care and nurture people. well- to an extent. I have learned in my schooling that I may LOVE the patients I work with but the families are a different story.  I have hard time focusing on my patients when I also a having to focus on the families. well, this is where I learned my love for the OR. I legit, fell in love. the drama. the excitement and the adrenaline is by far MY FAVORITE. I love surgery and I cant wait to have that in my every day life. I am so blessed to have my family and friends support me in this and again... this next year is going to be one crazy ride.

lake season.

It is one of my FAVORITE times of the year! Lake Season.

This year is going to be  an even better summer!

Erin's Parents got their new lake house finished and it is absolutely gorgeous! Growing up Erin and I would literally spend our entire summers out there. Cant wait to make new memories now that its completed! We broke in the new house this past weekend with a beautiful lake day. First of many!

I LOVE the lake scene and beautiful water.

heres to one of the best summers yet!

Saturday we celebrated a sweet day.

Edwin's grandma (granny) TURNED 90!

We thought it would be perfect timing to throw her a little get together! She was in AWE. It was just precious.. Edwin's mom decided to get all the family and friends down to the farm and have BBQ and show granny a good time. it was beautiful weather so everything turned out perfect.

She is the sweetest most caring lady ever.

Happy 90th Birthday Granny! We love you!

This year the weather man was making me a little nervous... the Saturday before was a gross ugly day. But Sunday, it brighten & warmed up for us!

Spring has sprung!

Last weekend Edwin twisted my arm to do my LEAST favorite thing in the world! YARD WORK!

Okay...I won't be super dramatic, but I truly would rather do anything than sweat outside while doing manual labor and E did not cut me any slack.

We packed up remix and got to shopping!

Our list consisted of:

Cutting the grass
Edging
Aireating(spelling)
Pine strawed - the worst!
Cut down a tree
Got rid of unwanted plants
Planted grass seed
And then my favorite planted some gorge flowers!!

After a full day of that I felt so gross but so good at the same time!

So happy to we did it together and I love my little flowers!

This is one of my favorite flowers and I wish I would have gotten more now. But so glad there already blooming!

jersey boys.

Growing up, some of you may or may not know I danced for 14 years. Being on stage was my absolute FAVORITE.

I still to this day love being in front of an audience- I HOPE one day I have a little girl who loved dancing just as much as I did. (my luck she will want to play soccer or softball) ha.

anyways- this past weekend Edwin, the roe's, aunt Maxine and momma all went to see jersey boys!

{swoon}

I was in absolute awe. This Broadway show is now definite in my top 3! Mom and I try to see any show that comes to Columbia and of course we saw a few in New York.

I have been looking forward to this for a while. Edwin actually enjoyed it as well. The music in this show MADE it.

If any of you get a chance to see it, DO IT.

granny's china cabiet.

today made my heart so full.

A while back- Edwin's grandma 'granny' moved a bunch of her furniture out of her house to prepare for a move. She asked me and Edwin to see if we wanted anything, and our eyes met {and fell in love} with two things.

her precious little china cabinet was one of them:

Edwin and I had big dreams to one day turn it into our little "liquor bar"...

Here is the before. The wood itself made my heart skip a beat. its so beautiful and I loved the wooden wheels at the bottom. I was so excited she let us have this and better yet turn it into something so precious to us.

Excuse the messy garage:)

So- after a lot of sanding, staining and drilling we now have this in our dining room:

I am so in love.

The knobs are one of my favorite parts. We picked a pop of color but kept it in the rustic family. Edwin actually picked these out:)

We of course have the liquor side.... Edwin said to put the most important bottles up close :) always stocked on beam and black.

And then our wine side. I love all the room in the cabinets.

We re-did the mirror that was in the dining room and added that same brushed turquoise look to it. Tied everything together nicely.:)

Last but not least, we saved a drawer for the china that belonged to granny. Edwin loves it and so do I. We are so happy to have it along with a special piece we will forever treasure in our homes.

bit. Obsessed.

I cant promise this is going to be the last post in a while regarding my adorable, precious, handsome love-bug of a nephew. well, lets be honest. it wont be.

This past weekend it was 'our' turn to go babysit Eli.

-to catch some of you up. Candace and Josh are both physicians and they are in their 2nd year of residency. They are both on crazy different routines at the hospitals and by most of the time they have it worked out where they are on opposite schedules. sometimes, like this weekend... they are both there. at the same time.

lucky for me and edwin. :)

We got to spend the entire day saturday loving and playing with baby e. He is one of the best babies I have been around. so well behaved and so so cute.

edwin and I both got our snuggles throughout the day.

he is the sweetest bug in the world.

sunday, we had lunch at blue marlin. super good. some of the best collards in town. MMHM.

|happenings|

whew.

This past week has been so needed. crazy. BUT in a good way.

I had midterms, so finishing those up i needed some much needed girl time. Thursday night, my bestie (erin) and I went to our favorite... SUSHI & got to catch up. again. NEEDED that.

LOVE her.

Saturday, Me Casey P, and Harvey decided to go hit up G-VEGAS. Its one of my favorite places. Especially when its nice out side. We could have not picked a better day to go. We shopped, ate, and drank. ALOT. i love it and THEM!

Seeing how I have to PASS through Spartanburg to get to Greenville... it was must to visit the most adorable baby in the world.

got to catch up with my sista and love on baby eli. He is getting so big! I can not believe he is already 3 months old! Next weekend, Edwin and I are keeping him since mama and daddy have to work. I CANT WAIT! I am sure i will be overloading my blog next time with pictures of him everywhere. I just cant help it. Hes starting to get more of candace in him. when he was born. he was ALL JOSH. but now I can see that Lindler side in him.

Candace showed me some of his 3 month pictures. Here is one of my favorites.

reunited*

let me start this post out by saying i failed MISERABLY at getting any photos from Saturday night. I am hoping someone else took some that I can add later.

Saturday night was the SECOND annual oyster roast for our graduating class- i cannot believe its been FIVE years.... eek. time flies by.

between irmo, chapin and dutch fork we had THE BEST group of friends. so.. when i say graduating class its really our massive group of friends get together and have the best time. growing up we were all so so close. This year was of course a beautiful house on lake Murray. It was a great turn out and it was sad to all part ways again.

We enjoyed telling stories and getting to see what is going on in everyone's lives. We are all in separate places and to have such a big turn out was awesome. I love to hear over and over again the "i miss yous" so sweet. we bring out the best in each other. so blessed to have you all apart of my life.

until next time sweet friends-

My valentine. {always}

I recapped on my post about valentines last year. It made me smile. Edwin and I both have always had the same outlook on valentines. He knows not to get me anything and he knows there will be nothing for him either :). Ha so grinch like- but it's us.

I never likes the idea of going out for dinner on a night with hundreds of other people with the whole "valentines" feel.

I must say- I think I am like this because Edwin is always taking me out for dinner and making me feel like princess. He knows what makes me smile and to me... To have that ALL the time and not one special "day" is so so so much better.

We spent our day running errands (big mistake) all the crazies were out. Check out this guy we saw riding down Harbison blvd. with legit 50 ballons

Anways-we wanted to make dinner at our house. I needed to go to tj maxx and he dropped me off while he went to the grocery store.  He picked me back up and of course he bought me flowers and they were sitting in the back seat :) so sweet. It's almost a joke and game at this point. Ha.

All I needed was him, and his love. For the rest of time. I don't mind spending our valentines at home.

We had our closest friends over and killed a good 10 bottles of wine. Oops.

We were content and happy.

Always my valentine. Can't wait to spend
many more with {you}.

these girls.

so- every now and then I like to rave about some pretty awesome people in my life. Well. after this weekend.. its easy to say some pretty amazing things about these alluring people in my life.

THESE girls.

Throughout my life- I have always said its pretty dang hard to find GIRLS who just GET you. The girls who make you smile, make you cry because you laugh so hard and most of all make you feel like you. If you are a 20 something like me i KNOW you agree. its just freakin' hard.

This weekend was one of the most needed weekends in a while. Erin and I packed up our things and headed to beautiful Charlotte to see some of our most favorite girls. The week prior could have not gone any slower and I was itching to get there.

Now- Its Monday morning I am itching to get back. eh. I miss them!

Casey- eek. your just the shit because of your name. period. But no really- your laugh is contagious and I can even describe how much fun you are. Pretty positive when I couldn't find you Friday I felt like i lost my pet dog. heart was broken ha ha. :) you make my heart happy just by being here.

Harvs- You are such the mom of the group. always keeping us in line. You have the biggest heart of all and no matter where and when I know you would come when I need you. talk about a friend. you and buddy are just precious and perfect in every way. i love being with you both.

Erin - I'm pretty sure I write about you in every other blog post, so people know how much i adore your sweet face. BUT- I hope you had the best birthday in the entire world. I am so lucky to have our friendship from day 1. YOU, my friend, are one inspiring person. Thank you for loving me in my own faults and showing me what it is to be a true friend. i love you.

In the end, this weekend was perfect. my sweet friends you are all beautiful inside and out. I thrive to be more like each of you. thanks for the laughs, staying up till 3. snap chatting like no other, spending 85% of our time in the bathroom (getting ready duh. ), sleeping 3 to a bed, and world supply of vodka diet cokes.

love you three.
